Parts of a Comic Book

Different style elements are combined that make a comic book unique. It is more than just a bound copy of colorful pages and near indestructible superheroes, villains, aliens, and monsters. Without the different parts of a comic book, the books would look like any other paper back. People pick up a comic to read and see the bright pages, word balloons, and panels that illustrate the action and adventure they are about to embark on.

The first part of the comic book that should be worked on and completed is the script. The script is the written directions for how the comic will be put together. Also included in the script is the dialogue. The script often looks similar to a screenplay. There are two ways in which the script can be written. A full script includes the details of each story panel and how the plot will fold out. The second way to write the script is using the plot method. The plot method is less descriptive and more collaborative with the artist. The writer trusts the artist to fill in the details. Both of the script writing methods include the story, characters, and artists for the comic.

The pages of a comic are the part in the script where the writer tells what happens on each page. On the pages there are panels which are either rectangles or squares. This is where the writer puts the action of the script. These elements of a comic are like the blue print for the book. A splash page is used for dramatic effects. This is usually a panel that takes up the entire page and shows attention to a specific event or introduction to the story. If there is some type of explosion, you’ll usually see a splash page with flames and the word “Ka-boom!” on it.

The most unique part of a comic is the balloons. The balloons serve two purposes: one for showing the dialogue of characters, or words and the other for what the characters are thinking. The balloons are used to show where in the story dialogue or thinking is occurring. It is better to draw the action first and then add the balloons after. Drawing the balloons last is easier for editing purposes. If a comic is being drawn digitally on a computer, the balloons are easier to move around on the page and be placed where there is the most space on the page. There is often a third voice in a comic, or the narrator. The narrators can help move the plot along and give insight into what a character thinks or feels. To show the third voice, narratory blocks are used. They are the little rectangles or squares that we see on the pages. It is where you find special information about the story.

Whenever when the word 'erotic' comes into the minds of people, they always assume nudity as the most prominent part of it, which is not at all wrong. However, merely viewing nudity in any form does not mean that has to be erotic. Erotic actually means a feeling or a sensation that can send shivers down the spines of a human being. Unfortunately, eroticism has deliberately been portrayed in the bad light by people who consider themselves guardian of so called religion and culture.

Today there are many kinds of channels (such as Internet, films and books) from where people can derive the pleasures of feeling erotic in the most convenient manner. It's Easy to buy Comic Books Online

Back in the good old days, if a kid had a quarter in his pocket he would jump on his skateboard or Schwinn Stingray bicycle and head as fast as he could to the five-and-dime and pick up the newest copy of Spiderman or my favorite, Journey into Mystery featuring the Mighty Thor. These great Marvel Silver Age comics are now worth thousands of dollars and it all started with some kid and his quarter. Now if you want to buy comic books you need to either find an actual comic book store, which are becoming more and more rare every passing month, or you can buy comic books online.

When you buy comic books online you definitely will save some time but you lose the ability to actually hold the comic book in your hands like when you go to the actual store. Personally I like to be able to saunter into a comic book store and walk around, check out the expensive mags on the wall displays, and delve deeply into their back issue files.

About fifteen years ago I started going to comic book stores with my son and we would buy his favorite titles, usually Superman, and while he was looking at the newer titles I would search in the back issue files and find rare gems. After a couple of years of doing this I ended up with quite the collection of Silver Age Marvel comics. I bought a lot of Thor comics, but others also, including lots of X-men and Fantastic Four. Some of these comics were not in very good condition, but I bought them anyway with the reasoning that they were not making these anymore and someday they would be worth something just for being rare. I now have a pretty nice collection that is worth quite a bit of moolah.

If you want to buy comic books online there are several good websites you can go on. Ebay has an extensive ongoing rotation of great comics for sale, including many that have received the CGC (comic guarantee company) certification and are enclosed in hard plastic. You can search through their extensive database and find rare comics and graphic novels as well as newer titles. You can bid on any comics you find there and sometimes you can pick up some pretty good bargains or rare gems. Most of the time though you end up paying more than you intended or someone else beats you in the final auction bidding.

One of the best places to buy comic books online is at www.midtowncomics.com. Here you will find all of the best titles available from Silver Age to today's mangas. Another great site is www.atomicavenue.com and you can search their extensive database. You can also sell comics as well as buy comic books online there.

With the massive worldwide popularity of comic book and movie superheroes such as Spiderman, Iron Man, the Hulk, the Fantastic Four, and of course, the X-men, comic book prices will continue to rise, especially older, harder to find titles.

While comics with their glossy covers and brightly filled pages may not seem to be items that can command high prices there are many comic book collectors who can easily prove you to be wrong in this assumption. For these comic book collectors the best way to find the comic value of their books is to see what professional comic book appraisers have to say in this regard.

It is an accepted fact that comic books are graded on the physical condition of the book. In this grading the exterior of the book cover is looked at carefully. From this initial examination the appraiser will be able to give you a rough estimate of the comic value. Once this has been established the interior of the book will be seen.

The main items that establishes an accepted comic value is the type of genre, the series number, how the book looks when it has been opened and the various artist and writer names. These can inform the comic book appraiser if they have a collectible comic book that should be given a high price or if they have a book that is just ordinary in value.

This information will inform the comic book collector of the different steps that will need to be taken to provide their valuable comics with some safety features. These precautions are necessary if you want the value of your comic collection to go up.

As comic books have a set standard to determine their comic value you should see if you can find a comic book price guide that will provide you with this information. The information that is found in these comic book guides may be a little difficult understood, but if you are persevering you will soon understand the criteria that has been give for assigning the comic value to your various comic books

In comic book stores you can sometimes find comic books that are in mint condition or near mint condition. Other comic books will look well thumbed through even though they have been newly printed. These types of comic books should be carefully looked at to see if they are worth buying for their collection value or if you just want to read these comics.

When you buy your comic books for a comic book collection you will want to know what the comic value can be given for these types of comics. In addition you may desire to know if having certain types of comic books can increase or decrease the value of your entire collection.

With the many different comic books that you can buy it is sometimes difficult to know if you are buying a comic book that will increase in value as the years go by.
